The following information outlines the conditions and any FAQs when making a booking for womb hara massage with Ilina.
By making a booking it is assumed you understand the following, however there may be some situations where discretion is made.
Please reach out if there is something not answered below or you would like further clarity.
Who can receive this massage?
Both women and men can receive womb hara. Even though my direct focus is holding space for women, I invite men to come into this space as the experience can be just as powerful. The massage is only tailored slightly with the removal of womb work.
When is the best time to receive womb hara?
Ideally we work around your menstrual cycle; I don’t massage women who are bleeding as this is a contraindication. It is best we time your massage at least a couple of prior to your first bleed, or once it has completely finished. This is to avoid any pain or tenderness in the area which may be heightend at this time. In the case it comes early, we can coordinate a new time/reschedule where appropriate.
I’m currently pregnant, can I be massaged?
Unfortunately during pregnancy I cannot perform womb hara massage on you, it is best to wait until you are postpartum. Intuitively you will know when you feel ready and healed, as it can vary for every woman. However, depending on your birthing experience it may also be good to receive clearance from your doctor if you had any birthing complications, including a c-section.
Where did you learn womb hara massage?
I trained at the Institute of Feminine Arts, to become a certified Integrative Womb Hara Massage Therapist. The course is internationally recognised and accredited with IICT, to which I am also registered and a member.
Will my issue/problem area be resolved with one session?
Womb Hara massage is not intended to replace medical or psychological treatment, but to be undertaken in conjunction with your own healing practices.
Many women seek out womb hara as a seasonal practice, receiving the massage when they are needing a reset, connection to their womb, assistance, clarity or deep nourishment. Others will come for a more targeted concern such as iregular or painful bleeding, infertility, sexual trauma, birth trauma and may need to have a number of sessions before needing a 'top up' when feel called.
I have an IUD, can I receive this massage?
While the IUD is generally considered a contraindication to receiving womb hara, given the risk of it moving or dislodging from its place, I can tailor the massage and ommit a few of the massage techniques to avoid this risk. I will always go lighter over your womb if this is the case as I use a deep firm pressure.
Can children receive this massage?
I currently only perform this massage on those 18 years and older, however I do have a volunteer WWCC if you would like to book in a session for your daughter please message me so we can discuss further.
Can I share/bring these techniques into my own practice?
By receiving this massage, you acknowledge, agree and understand that Womb Hara massage is not to be copied or shared without the proper training and certification. This work is sacred and is to be honoured in such a way that its origins are treated with respect.
What do I need to do if I need to reschedule or cancel?
In the case that we need to reschedule, if a deposit was made this will be moved to your new appointment time taken off the total cost of the session, for the maximum times of one new appointment time. Cancellations or rescehdules with less than 24 hours notice may see your deposit forfeited.
